Before I get to my card this week, I'm happy to announce my owl card was Cupcake Inspirations Sweet Pick! Great news. It's been a few months since I've had a recognized card, and this card felt like something wholly unique, so... yay!
Over on the Tic Tac Toe Challenge blog, designers got an array of fantastic choices for designing cards. Let's take a look at this surprising board:
It took me a while, but I did find a peony stamp.
Now I've been working on my Copic Coloring for the last week, so I was excited to get to work on these cards. I'm going to once again sing Mary Doodles praises, as she really taught me a lot about Copic Coloring for beginners.
Here's my first card I worked on:
I'm really trying to give depth to my coloring. I used the same orange a couple times in the coloring to give the flower depth, and I attempted the same with the jar and the water. I then used four sequins down to give the card a bit of an elegant look.
Sometimes less is more.
As for my third card, this is where I got a little more experimental. I actually played with blending two colors that don't necessarily go together. What I've learned about Copic Markers is that they're much more forgiving than I given them credit for. I loved how surprising this card looks, and so this card has become the card I entered into the challenge.
I'm really proud of the work I'm doing with Copic markers. I'm learning a lot and having tons of fun experimenting with the medium.
